Roots in the streets
Growing up in South Auckland, particularly in the heart of Manurewa, graffiti was an undeniable part of the landscape. It was everywhere – on streets, alleyways, bridges, walls, windows, buildings, and even cars. Witnessing amazing pieces and characters being painted sparked a fascination that drew me into this art form. Learning the ropes and understanding the dynamics of this game the hard way, I joined multiple crews, enjoying the camaraderie of painting alongside like-minded individuals.
